The deadline is Wednesday 20th September or until full. Places are first come first served and only secure when booked and paid for online. Minimum participants is 14.
Bookings must be made in the name of the participant – bookings cannot be made on behalf of someone else. Guidance for those having trouble with the booking process is available at the link above, or by emailing umpiring@englandhockey.co.uk
General Course Information
The course is for anyone who is going to be umpiring the 11 – a – side game.
The course comprises 5 modules:

The course costs £50 per participant.
Participants receive a resource pack containing
- A Fox 40 Classic Eclipse whistle
- A wallet containing warning cards, score pads and pencil
- A course workbook
- A Rules Book
- A pre match checklist
The course is delivered by tutors accredited by England Hockey.
Course participants must be at least 14 years old (and with parental consent).
Participants, who have completed the course, including the pre course online Rules test, will be accredited as an England Hockey L1 umpire.
Information for Course Participants
You will be required to register and pay for the course at the Find a Course section of the England Hockey website.
Courses close 7 working days prior to the course date, or when fully booked.
Payment must be made at the time of booking.
Registration/log in details must be that of the participant and not of the person paying (if different).
Participants under the age of 18 must submit a Parental Consent Form (available on the EH website) either by emailing it to umpiring@englandhockey.co.uk or by bringing it on the day of the course.
Having registered, you will receive confirmation of your booking by email, along with other relevant information.
You will need to complete the online Rules Test prior to the course and take your certificate to the course to show the tutor.
Having successfully completed the course, including the online Rules test, you will be issued with your Level 1 accreditation. This may take up to 4 weeks to process.
